The Beeb didn't have much to say against the "bear"; maybe they use his company to chase tv license non - payers.

The real evil is not the payment of money, but the secrecy attending it (Chitty L.J. in the case of Shipway v Broadwood [1899] 1 QB 369, 373). .

The courts shall not make an enforcement order under section 65(1) if section 61(1)(a) (signing of agreements) was not complied with unless a document (whether or not in the prescribed form and complying with regulations under section 60(1)) itself containing all the prescribed terms of the agreement was signed by the debtor or hirer (whether or not in the prescribed manner

Unfortunately I missed the programme, but from comments in this thread I am very dissapointed.

From the information given to me by a researcher for this show I understood that it was supposed to air the serious dangers of unsecured debt becoming secured debt by the use of charging orders. This is obviously not the case. That researcher was given access to some of our more secure areas, yet never used it.

I am led to the conclusion that has been expressed in the above posts, that this programme was intended more to scare the public than to air the dangers involved.

I will be wanting a lot more reassurances and programme details before allowing any researcher access in future.
