Is there an option in User Control Panel which allows me to increase the time out time period allowing me to stay logged on for longer (or pernanently) before the site times me out?

Sometimes if I go off googling for some info or something or pop downstairs to make a brew, when I get back the site has automatically timed me out.

Any thoughts on a solution to this problem welcomed.

tanz that is only a small problem imagine you are composing a long posting and after a while you send it only trouble is you have timed out !!! and the posting (i only do short posts !!!) is lost

what i have learned this the hard way (and continue to learn the hard way) is always to copy the text (highlight contol C ) before you attempt to post on a thread ..... then when you find out you have timed out you still have the text yes i know its sensible to type (park the words) in a word document instead of in the window but it's not the same

I think so I will put it on if not, why does this make a difference to the time out I thought it was just for remembering passwords.

Ink is perfectly correct Tanz, tick the remember me box and you shouldnt time out.

Normal site timeout is 30 minutes but ticking that extends it indefinitely.
