Default National DCA Day 24 JUNE 2009!

There is a campaign running regarding a national protest about the Unfair Business Practice of DCA's.

The object of the Campaign is to get as many consumers as possible to write/email letters of complaint on Wednesday 24 June 2009.

If you wish to participate, send your letters of complaint to:
The OFT;
Gareth Thomas @ BERR and;
your chosen NASTY DCA!

Please join in this day of Action, if you want to see a change.

What are they hoping to acheive? One thing I can is the email system going down or an overfull mail box for one person if this happened.

Now which DCA would I choose? Cabot? Arrow Global? I am going to have to think which was the nastiest.

Clearly, the object of the excercise is to bring about awareness!
Therefore the FSA & Gareth Thomas @ BERR need to be targetted.
Also, bombard the DCA's with letters of complaint...

Personally, I think it will be best if certain DCA's are hit first such as:
Cabot;
Lowell;
Arrow Global and;
Link Financial.

However, the choice is up to the individual.
Apparently, this will become an ongoing protest.

Don't forget to use any pre-paid envelopes that may have been provided to you by your friendly DCA

Do you have a media story running alongside this day of action? It makes it a better story if there is media attention because it may not have the desired effect otherwise.

Have a look OTR on the Campaign forum:
National DCA Day
For once I agree nattie, the Campaign def. needs the media to assist!

You need to find a case that covers the aims of your campaign because when I first heard or read that thread OTR I first thought direct action in the sense of everyone ringing up the DCA to put them off calling others. However, you need a set of goals and a reason to complain and something that is simplistic enough for the media to be involved. The date is horrific though as it is half way through the OFT test case, and unfortunately, my attention is more focused on that and not a DCA Action.

Do you know why that date was chosen for a day of action?

I have no idea as to why that date was chosen; 24 June.

When I first came across the thread, I thought that it seemed a good idea.
However, if people are simply going to complain to any DCA, as opposed to a selected chosen few to target, the complaints will acheive little.

Agree, the chosen date is not the best;
What a shame.

If they had tied it in with this campaign, it might have been more cohesive given the timing http://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/art...s-scandal.html
