I am having the same problem with GE Money..They now have three death certificates, all original and keep stating they don't have one...shame Obi's ashes are buried at sea, then again I do have the offical paperwork and the ship's copy of the computer printout where the Navy buried them showing the latitude and longditude (sp).

RBS lost the first Death Certificate, so I had to go into the local branch and make a fuss before they realised they already had an original death certificate on record.

When Obi died I got ten copies, so all are numbered consecutively. of course I had to pay for them, it was cheaper at the time, now when a certificate is required it costs more.

No, none of them will ever change. Perhaps the mail room of these organisations should be retrained to know what importance to place on a Death Certificate. I have sneaky feeling the certificates are placed in the file and forgotten.
