if the dollar is weak versus the pound shouldn't the price go down not up?

Re traffic queues, i ride a bike it has two seats but its only me, i cant find unwilling passengers. It does help beat the traffic though.

Oh and despite being a modern sports bike its relatively cheap to insure bearing in mind its potential performance/value, its cheap to run too.

All in all i cant understand why more people don't use bikes.

JMHO

Yes Glenn the dollar is down about 12%, but oil is up about 30%.

Dollar 12 months ago worth about 54p. oil $60 barrel = 32 barrel

Dollar today worth about 49p oil $78 barrel = 38 barrel ........... up 18%

Oil is high, true, but the taxation structure here is still very shocking. I don't understand how a tax increase on fuel is justified as when the cost of oil is very high, so is the tax revenue generated from it. Are we going to see a benefit of these extra tax pounds? No, we're not!

Motorists hammered yet again by idealistically bankrupt politicians. Taxation so high loads of people have to use plastic to survive. Idealistically bankrupt and broke, staring at an abyss.

Agree entirely. VAT take, is up straight away, and I would think that the duty is a percentage anyway.

Lol i dont think peeps like getting wet!
I had a bike back in my 20's, they are very cheap to run it's true but not brill for the winter months (which we seem to be getting more of)
and peeps are more vulnerable on them.
My sons have bikes now and have no intention of driving a car at the mo, but that will probably change lol
Good for you anyway Glenn

Big psychological barrier, 1.00. I remember petrol hitting 1.00 per gallon, shot up after that.
