I have absolutely no idea. I haven't ever heard of Direct Debit Indemnity, only the guarantee.

Hi
Have just found this

http://www.accommodation.manchester....itinformation/

# Question: What happens in the event of an error?
# Answer: Go to you bank/building society and ask to do a Direct Debit Indemnity claim.
# Question: What happens if the bank refuses to do an Indemnity?
# Answer: No bank/building society can refuse under the terms and conditions of the Direct Debit Guarantee.

Direct Debit guarantee is about a mistake being made by the bank/building society and/or company which should mean an immediate refund. The indemnity is what the bank send to the company to recover the funds from that payment.
